Our firm is the mandatary parent company of the temporary grouping of companies “Unionbau AG/SpA - Elettro S.E.A. GmbH/S.r.l. - Erdbau GmbH/S.r.l.” in charge of the expansion works of the waste treatment plant in Meran/Merano contracted by Eco-Center AG/SpA. ATZWANGER will be responsible for all the mechanical plants, while the partner companies will take care of the excavations, civil works and electrical installations. The total value of the work exceeds 12 million euros.

The works, which started on 16th January 2024, include the construction of a 5,000 m³ storage tank, a pre-treatment plant and a new high-load anaerobic digestion section consisting of two anaerobic reactors. In addition, the existing cogenerators will be replaced to enhance the biogas produced by the new plant.

The excavations for the homogenisation tank have been completed while the civil works are still in progress: despite the very high levels found in the aquifer, the tank has already been completed. At the same time, the excavations in the reactor zone are also continuing according to schedule, with the assembly of the new reactors scheduled to begin in August 2024.
